Open letter !Urgent Actions needed against the Iranian regime to stop the brutal killing and execution of our children
To: UN, UNICEF, Amnesty International, and any organization that cares about human rights in Iran
Dear Sirs and Madams,
We, the Iranian Women´s Rights Activists and Human Rights Defenders, respectfully write to you to use your full capacity to intervene and demand the Islamic regime of Iran stop killing innocent people and prevent the execution of our children. We are in great pain and agony from the brutal killing of civil protesters and the execution of our children on a daily basis!
In the aftermath of the tragic death of Mahsa Jina Amini, on September 16 of this year, and since the beginning of the protests in Iran, the Iranian government has used violent brutality and threatened protestors. Hundreds of protesters have been killed and more than 15,000 people have been arrested. At least 21 persons in the context of the protests face the death penalty, and so far, six have already been sentenced to death.
On Wednesday, November 30th, 15 protestors were unlawfully put on trial in Alborz Revolutionary Court with the charge of “Moharebeh” and “Corruption on Earth”, under the pretext of killing a Basiji member.
At least three juveniles are among the 15 individuals facing charges that could carry the death penalty in Iran’s “Islamic Revolutionary Court” system, which has a documented history of denying defendants the right to a lawyer of their choice and forcing them to use state-appointed lawyers instead.
Two juveniles, a 15-year-old, and a 16-year-old brother are currently facing death penalties under false charges, in the city of Zahedan, Balochistan Province.
Furthermore, a 17-year-old could be charged with the death penalty in the city of Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi Province,
The Islamic government forces have so far, since the beginning of the recent unrest, brutally killed 68 children using firearms, and batons and throwing them from buildings’ roofs. They have injured hundreds of children and blinded dozens of children with bullets. Hundreds of students have been kidnapped and held hostage in prisons in the worst conditions.
We demand all governments, UN bodies, organizations, and human rights defenders that care about children’s rights and support the struggle of the Iranian people fighting for their basic human rights, take urgent actions to protect the children and protesters in Iran. Governments worldwide, as well as UN bodies, should strongly warn Islamic Republic officials that any death sentences imposed on protesters will result in severe and sustained international consequences.
Sincerely
….
